Beef Brisket with Thyme and Caramelized Onions

This recipe was given to Chef Phil by an ‘Anonymous’ Jewish Grandmother. The original maker of this recipe may be unknown, but you will never forget how all the flavors work together and create an unbelievable taste!

INGREDIENTS

• 10-12 LB Brisket
• 10-15 cloves of garlic
• 3 large yellow onions, sliced and caramelized (cook and put to the side)

PREPARATION

• 2 1/4 quarts of beef stock
• 2 cups brown sugar
• 2 1/2 cups of ketchup
• 1 1/2 tbsp of salt
• 1 tbsp onion powder
• 1 tbsp garlic powder
• 2 tsp black pepper
• 1/2 tsp oregano
• 1/2 tsp thyme
• 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
• 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
